Solid Wood Information and Wood Care
Did you know?
Our furniture stands out as unique since it is meticulously crafted by hand. Most of our furniture is skillfully made from robust, enduring woods like Suar wood, Mahogany, and Teak, resulting in aesthetically pleasing and long-lasting final products.
Want to know the process?
The process of keen drying is taking the cured wood slab and placing it in the heating chamber to bring the moisture levels in the wood slabs below 12 %. Additionally, we use top-notch finishing materials to maintain a consistently high standard of excellence.
How do cracks form?
The wood exhibits inherent natural cracks, and organic materials naturally expand and contract in response to climate changes, resulting in minor hairline cracks. These cracks are anticipated and considered a characteristic of the wood’s natural process. As a living, breathing material, genuine wood responds to its surroundings and evolves, so cracking should be anticipated and is not considered a defect. Natural cracks in our products have no impact on their structural integrity, as these cracks are considered a normal occurrence.
Fun Facts!
Why is our furniture unique?
Each piece of solid wood furniture carries its distinctive character due to the natural variations in grain patterns, colour tones, and texture, making it a truly one-of-a-kind creation. Each solid wood furniture item is different, showcasing the beauty and individuality of the natural wood.
It is normal for there to be hairline cracks, surface cracks, lengthy thin cracks, and movement close to knots.
How to keep your product long lasting ?
To minimize the occurrence of natural cracks in wood, it is advisable to apply a specialized mineral oil designed for wood. This helps maintain moisture and slows down the cracking process. Preserving the wood’s inherent character and color can be achieved through the use of natural wood oil, while it is important to avoid products containing silicone, such as spray polishes, as they can be absorbed by the wood.
Swift action is crucial when dealing with liquid spills on wood to prevent irreversible damage. Gently and carefully remove the spilled liquid using a clean, highly absorbent cloth.
